Commissioning Support Officer

Venn Group are supporting a local authority in recruiting an interim Commissioning Support Officer within the Children’s Commissioning and Performance Directorate. This role is key to the reprocurement of 0-19 health services and wider commissioning activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the 0-19 team with the reprocurement and commissioning of services
  • Assist in developing commissioning strategies and market analysis
  • Prepare service specs, tender docs, and evaluation criteria
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure providers meet key outcomes
  • Provide admin and project support including data analysis
  • Liaise with internal teams, providers, and health partners
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and governance

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in local government commissioning (children’s or health preferred)
  • Skilled in procurement support, contract management, and service review
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong Excel and data analysis ability
  • Understanding of public sector procurement and commissioning frameworks
  • Desirable: experience in 0-19 commissioning, NHS/ICS, or health sector work
