Progression into a Compliance Officer

My client is seeking a dedicated Compliance Associate to support their compliance function, ensuring adherence to both internal and external policies and regulations. This role involves working closely with the Head of Compliance to develop and implement procedures that facilitate compliance across all departments.
Support the oversight of the compliance function and manage regulatory risk across authorised firms. Key responsibilities include:
- Regulatory Interaction: Maintain open dialogue with the FCA and other authorities, ensuring timely handling of regulatory reports and enquiries.
- Compliance Arrangements: Assist in designing and implementing compliance arrangements in line with FCA regulations.
- Product and Service Review: Oversee the review and development of existing products and services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business departments to find compliant solutions to business problems.
- Regulatory Auditing: Oversee regular audits to ensure compliance with FCA regulations.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated with regulatory developments and maintain CPD records.
- Reporting: Collate regulatory issues for the Head of Compliance to report to the board.
- Compliance Advice: Provide assistance on all aspects of compliance, including file reviews, TCF gap analysis, and financial promotion approval.
- T&C Activities: Ensure T&C activities are up to date and risks are managed.
- Regulatory Training: Oversee delivery of regulatory training to all team members.
- Adviser Support: Support new advisers in understanding firm procedures.
- Effectiveness Reports: Prepare reports demonstrating the effectiveness of the compliance framework.
- Policy Maintenance: Maintain policies, processes, registers, and MI reports for regulatory compliance.
- Complaint Management: Review and manage complaints in accordance with regulatory rules.
- Staff Awareness: Ensure staff are aware of complaints handling procedures.
- Experience in financial services administration support.
- Financial services qualifications or working towards them.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
