Job Overview:
A leading automotive engineering business is seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Inspector to join its team. The successful candidate will support the quality function across various stages of production, ensuring that all components meet the required specifications and standards. This role is based in Erdington, Birmingham, with potential travel across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out inspections on manufactured components.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, control plans, and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organised inspection records and documentation for all products.
  • Support production and quality teams to reduce internal defects and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the company's audit schedule.
  • Manage calibration systems and quarantine areas and contribute to scrap reduction initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the organisation.
  • Utilise metrology tools including CMM.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control documentation and support issue containment.

Person Specification:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production / manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A motivated, assertive team player with a focus on delivering high standards.
  • Customer-focused with a keen eye for detail.
