Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the planning, design, and construction of major transport infrastructure projects
- Managing contract operations involving professional services consultants and contractors
- Overseeing the procurement for design and construction phases
- Securing planning permissions and negotiating land purchases
- Providing highways expertise and technical support to the infrastructure delivery team
- Preparing and presenting progress reports on project development
- Engaging with the Cabinet Member for Transport and Infrastructure to ensure project timelines are met
- Supporting project management methodologies and leading the assurance process
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in managing major transport infrastructure projects
- Highways expertise and an understanding of infrastructure delivery
- Experience in contract management and procurement processes
- Proficiency in obtaining planning permissions and managing land negotiations
- Ability to develop Green Book compliant business cases
- Chartered Engineer status is desirable
- Excellent reporting and communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders
- Strong project management skills and experience with project management frameworks
