Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager on a permanent basis, based in Midlands.

Role Summary

路 Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs aligned with legal requirements, industry standards, and client expectations for Decarbonisation projects across multiple locations (UK and Ireland).

路 Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

路 Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring timely corrective actions and continuous improvement.

路 Provide expert HSE advice and support to project teams during all phases including design, offsite prefabrication, modularisation, and onsite installation.

路 Collaborate closely with HSE officers, operation teams, client representatives, and subcontractors to embed safe working practices and environmental stewardship into daily operations.

路 Drive HSE training and awareness programs to build competency and engagement across all teams.

路 Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring transparency and effective communication with senior management and stakeholders.

路 Facilitate client HSE audits and site visits, acting as the primary point of contact for all health, safety, and environmental matters.

路 Support the expansion of HSE best practices as the company grows into new locations and regions within Europe.

Requirements

路 5 years minimum demonstrable experience as an HSE Manager or similar role within construction, mechanical, electrical or energy saving sectors, understanding the unique HSE challenges they present.

路 Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

路 Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or International Diploma and equivalent environmental qualifications.

路 Experience in leading, developing, and managing a team of HSE Officers or similar professionals.

路 Ability to conduct risk assessments, site inspections, audits, and incident investigations with a focus on continuous improvement.

路 Capability to oversee HSE activities across multiple projects and sites in different locations, managing priorities and resources effectively.
