Billings Team Leader

Salary: Up to £40,000

Join our client, a Birmingham based business as a Billings Team Leader, where your leadership skills and financial expertise will make a real difference.

Marks Sattin are pleased to be working with a well regarded city centre business on their search for a Billings Team Leader. In this position, you'll oversee billing operations and lead a team of specialists to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all regulations. Drawing on your previous experience as a team leader, you'll provide mentorship, drive process improvements, and confidently liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to enhance billing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the billings team, offering direction, training, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Apply your Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger expertise to optimise billing operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing clear communication and resolving billing queries or disputes.
  • Work closely with finance, legal teams, and external partners to drive process improvements and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and implement enhancements to billing systems.

About You:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger: A solid foundation in managing these areas, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Previous Team Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Billing Software: Familiarity with relevant billing systems and tools, alongside strong skills in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel).
  • Knowledge of Compliance and Regulations: Understanding of financial regulations and compliance relevant to billing processes.
  • Professional Qualifications: Ideally holding an AAT qualification, or having commenced studies towards ACCA or CIMA
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive and solution-focused approach to addressing challenges and optimising processes.
