As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Buyer to join their commercial team and play a key role in sourcing materials and services to support the delivery of critical healthcare projects across the UK.

As the Buyer you will be responsible for the procurement of construction materials, plant, and subcontractor services, ensuring value for money, compliance, and alignment with project specifications and timelines. This is a great opportunity to work on rewarding projects that make a difference in healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure materials, plant, and subcontract services in line with project requirements, specifications, and budgets
  • Negotiate best value deals with suppliers and subcontractors while maintaining quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term partnerships
  • Manage and monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, frameworks, and procurement regulations
  • Liaise closely with project managers, site teams, and the wider commercial team to meet procurement deadlines
  • Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer in the construction industry (healthcare sector experience advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisation abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite
