FMCG Buying Assistant / Junior Purchaser
- Annual Salary: Up to £28,000 plus discretionary bonus

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business based in the heart of Birmingham. This role combines the responsibilities of a Junior Purchaser and an FMCG Buying Assistant, making it ideal for someone passionate about purchasing, supply chain management, and spotting consumer trends.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery terms.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted supply of required materials.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers, products, and consumer trends.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure product specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Review and process purchase orders and coordinate with finance teams to ensure timely payments.
- Provide consistent support around ordering, placing and chasing orders.
- Manage stock listings and ensure amounts are correct on the system.
- Perform general administration across the buying function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive and eager to take on new challenges and learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Natural ability to communicate and build relationships.
- Tech-savvy with a knack for spotting upcoming trends.
