Are you commercially minded, confident managing high-value suppliers, and ready to influence procurement strategy in a large-scale operation?Pertemps are working in partnership with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit a Strategic Buyer with a strong background in transport procurement. This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to shape supplier strategy and deliver long-term value in a critical spend category.Capex procurement experience is not essential - training and development will be provided. What matters most is your strategic approach, stakeholder engagement skills, and proven success in managing complex transport and logistics categories.Key Responsibilities:

Lead procurement activities within the Transport category, including supplier sourcing, negotiations, and contract management.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business goals.
Support Capex procurement projects (training provided) and contribute to cross-functional procurement initiatives.
Drive cost savings, service improvements, and supplier performance across key areas.
Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify innovation and value opportunities.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage RFQs, tender processes, and supplier onboarding.

What We're Looking For:

Demonstrable experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain procurement at a strategic level.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Confidence managing stakeholder relationships and influencing at all levels.
Highly organised, analytical, and comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously.
ERP system experience and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
CIPS qualification (or studying towards) is desirable.
