About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join a hugely respected regional main contractor. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents

  • Conduct take-offs and quantify materials, labour, and plant costs

  • Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations

  • Prepare and submit tender documentation within deadlines

  • Identify risks and opportunities within project budgets

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams

  • Maintain cost databases and pricing schedules

  • Assist with value engineering and cost control where required

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar

  • Knowledge of local building regulations and standards
