We are on the lookout for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our clients Commercial Department based in Birmingham. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about the construction industry and is eager to take on responsibilities that span across commercial management and project coordination.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage in thorough review and analysis of contractual documents, providing insightful commercial advice to facilitate amicable solutions.
  • Actively participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, from pre-contract meetings to final account settlements.
  • Ensure meticulous monitoring and reporting of project variations, maintaining stringent adherence to contractual change protocols.
  • Conduct detailed monthly financial evaluations with clients, oversee the processing of interim payments, and expedite the finalisation of accounts.
  • Implement cost control measures, perform cost-value reconciliations regularly, and contribute to dispute resolution processes when necessary.
  • Oversee the drafting and distribution of tender enquiry packages, negotiate, and finalise sub-contract agreements, and manage ongoing sub-contractor engagements.
  • Coordinate project prerequisites, ensuring all regulatory compliances and permissions are secured prior to project commencement.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the project team, ensuring all updates and changes are seamlessly integrated into the project workflow.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field is highly desirable, though promising candidates currently pursuing relevant qualifications will also be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex projects, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Microsoft Office, Sage Construct, and ASTA is essential.
  • Excellent numerical skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • A valid driving license is essential as the role requires some travel.
