Your new company
You will be joining a fast-growing and forward-thinking contractor at the forefront of the water sector, delivering high-value infrastructure projects directly for Severn Trent Water. This multi-accredited and well-respected contractor offers a strong pipeline of work in the water sector and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects valued up to 5m.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with the option for flexible working.

Your new role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide vital commercial support across multiple water infrastructure projects. You will work closely with operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring robust contract administration and successful project outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing contracts and commercial aspects of projects, including reviewing terms and preparing risk registers
  • Leading the production of budgets, forecasts and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs)
  • Preparing valuations, final accounts and assessing variations and additional works
  • Supporting cost tracking and dispute resolution
  • Attending client meetings and negotiating contract terms
  • Conducting project reviews and reporting to the Commercial Manager
  • Assisting with tendering and implementing commercial reporting systems
  • Driving continuous improvement through post-project analysis.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the water (ideal) or heavy civils sectors
  • Sound working knowledge of NEC contracts (ideally Options A and C)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
