We are actively seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work for an organisation based in Wolverhampton.  The contract will initially be a 3 month period, but with a likely extension or opportunity for Permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overview costings on projects to ensure value for money and that all work can be completed within agreed timescales
  • Attend Capital Review Meetings with both internally and with external consultants to review capital delivery updates and to comment on capital/ cashflow implications (individual projects and programmes being progressed can range from £10k to £100m
  • Provide advice on the appointment of external consultants, when required (including fee levels and stage payments etc)
  • Oversee the development and publication of historic programme / project costs, to provide a suitable data base for benchmarking future proposals
  • Provide high level advice on the potential financial impacts of changes to standards / guidance
  • Manage the performance and workload of the scrutiny function, to ensure that timescales and objectives are met, and all resources are available
  • Display financial information in an indexed format broken down to cover works, non-works, fees, contingency and optimism bias.
  • Participate in special projects on healthcare building and estate related issues including audits, surveys, expert reports, research and development, either as an individual or working with others as required.
