Quantity Surveyor Major Civils Project

Location: Midlands (B4 7XG)
Freelance up to £450

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a major civil engineering project in the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute QS looking to take the next step in their career on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the commercial management of project packages under the NEC contract suite
  • Identify opportunities to drive value and manage risk across the project
  • Support cost control, forecasting, and value recovery activities
  • Work independently while contributing to the wider project delivery team
  • Support contract administration, change management, and subcontractor accounts

Requirements:

  • Experience on civils or infrastructure projects with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors/consultancies
  • A structured and consistent career history demonstrating growth and responsibility
  • Sound understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and commercially minded with attention to detail
