Your new companyAre you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, currently seeking a new permanent position? I'm delighted to be supporting our client based in the commercial main contracting sector in recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the West Midlands region and a number of their sites, based in Birmingham.
Your new role

  • To manage the commercial resources of the assigned project (or section) to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
  • To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement group policies for risk management.
  • To support the compilation, authorisation and submission of project variations.
  • To compile and place subcontracts, material and plant orders.
  • To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Diverse and clear communication skills with experience of effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, client teams, sub-contractors, and the wider supply chain.
  • Holds the relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable).
  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Literate and Numerate.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Willing to undertake training and development when appropriate.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
  • Ability to use a range of IT packages, including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages.
