The Company:This prestigious and nationally recognised retail business is known for delivering exceptional customer service across its wide-reaching UK portfolio. With nearly 200 properties including retail stores, residential flats, and investment assets, they're looking for a seasoned Senior Estates Manager to support their busy team on a part-time basis for a 12-month period.
The Role:As Estates Manager, you will report to the Head of Property and play a key role in the strategic and day-to-day management of the company's mixed-use property portfolio. This is a varied role, encompassing asset management, lease advisory, lettings, and landlord & tenant work. You'll also support with budgeting, maintenance coordination, and maximising value across the estate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the operational and commercial property portfolio, including retail stores and sublet commercial and residential assets.
- Leading lease negotiations and property management activities to secure the best possible commercial outcomes.
- Identifying and delivering new income opportunities and lettings.
- Preparing financial appraisals and approval documents for property transactions.
- Supporting budget setting and monitoring delivery against property objectives.
- Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance with internal and external teams.
The Ideal Candidate:You will be an experienced property professional with a background in estates or asset management, ideally gained in a retail, leisure, or commercial property setting.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of property and lease management principles.
- Proven experience in landlord and tenant matters, lease negotiations, and estate strategy.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercially focused and financially literate.
- MRICS qualification preferred but not essential.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- A valid UK driving licence.
