Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Birmingham
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 3:30pm; Friday, 7:30am - 3:00pm
Hourly Rate: 12.47 (equivalent to approx. 24,897 annually)

Are you passionate about working outdoors and making a visible difference in local communities? We're looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a friendly and hardworking team responsible for maintaining green spaces to a high standard.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in their surroundings, and wants to contribute to creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments.

• Grass cutting and collection
• Hedge and bush trimming and shaping
• Strimming and weed control
• Shrub maintenance, pruning, and planting
• Litter picking and green waste disposal
• Maintenance of hard standing areas
• Use of petrol-powered machinery and ride-on mowers
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

• Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
• Confident using grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Good communication skills and customer service awareness
• Ability to maintain basic work records
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices
• Full UK driving licence required

Desirable Qualifications (not essential):

• PA1 & PA6 spraying licence
• Banksman training
• Trailer licence
