Grounds Maintenance Operative
Location: Birmingham
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 3:30pm; Friday, 7:30am - 3:00pm
Hourly Rate: 12.47 (equivalent to approx. 24,897 annually)
About the Role
Are you passionate about working outdoors and making a visible difference in local communities? We're looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a friendly and hardworking team responsible for maintaining green spaces to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting and collection
- Hedge and bush trimming and shaping
- Strimming and weed control
- Shrub maintenance, pruning, and planting
- Litter picking and green waste disposal
- Maintenance of hard standing areas
- Use of petrol-powered machinery and ride-on mowers
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
What We're Looking For
- Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
- Confident using grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Good communication skills and customer service awareness
- Ability to maintain basic work records
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices
- Full UK driving licence required
Desirable Qualifications (not essential):
- PA1 & PA6 spraying licence
- Banksman training
- Trailer licence
