A Business Development Manager is required in the Midlands to support the growth of sales within the renewable energy & M&E sectors. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing strong client relationships, and promoting products such as heat pumps and associated low-carbon technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience selling into M&E consultants, specifiers, contractors, social housing providers, or local authorities. A strong understanding of technical, renewable energy or HVAC sales is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase pipeline and revenue, focusing on building relationships and sales into contractors, consultants, specifiers, tier 1 developers, Housing associations, Local Authorities and more.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target markets.
  • Promote renewable energy products such as heat pumps and HVAC technologies.
  • Build and manage relationships with M&E consultants, specifiers, and contractors.
  • Present technical solutions to clients in the social housing and local authority sectors.
  • Manage the full sales process from lead generation to contract closure.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Manage account activities to ensure excellent client satisfaction

Experience & Skills Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Proven sales experience within renewable energy, HVAC, construction or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of heat pumps or low-carbon technologies.
  • Experience selling into M&E consultants, contractors, or public sector clients.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working to targets with minimal supervision.
