About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office-based collaboration in Birmingham City Centre with remote flexibility. You'll support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial operations across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Maintain and update financial records and documentation
  • Handle employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations
  • Support VAT returns and other statutory submissions
  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable
