Laboratory Technician
Location: Oldbury, Birmingham
Salary: 拢28,000 per annum (Permanent)

路Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
路Friday: 8:00am - 3:35pm
The Role
Our client, a highly successful pigment colouring manufacturer, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their Oldbury manufacturing site. This is a permanent, site-based role reporting directly to the Production Manager.
You will take full responsibility for all quality control, testing, regulatory, and product development activities relating to the site. The role is largely autonomous and suits a self-motivated individual comfortable working independently within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
路Carry out quality control testing, regulatory checks, and product development work
路Support production processes when required to ensure on-spec, timely dispatch
路Work independently and escalate issues to the Production Manager when appropriate
路Investigate quality-related non-conformances and assist with corrective/preventive actions
路Identify and report product or equipment faults
路Maintain laboratory reagent and consumable stock levels
路Create and maintain electronic records using Microsoft NAVision (MRP system)
路Maintain Bills of Materials and operating instructions
路Develop and update Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
路Support the sales team by developing technical solutions for customer requirements
路Travel occasionally to customer or group sites for technical support or training
路Ensure laboratory areas are kept clean, safe, and compliant with Health & Safety policies

Skills & Experience Required
路Strong laboratory skills, ideally gained within a manufacturing or industrial environment
路Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician, Lab Assistant, or similar
路Comfortable working independently and managing own workload
路Highly self-driven with excellent attention to detail
路Strong IT and computer skills
路Good communication skills
