Head of Year - Pastoral Leadership Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Head of Year to join a thriving secondary school. This pivotal role combines pastoral leadership with academic support, ensuring students are fully engaged, supported, and able to achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities include:
*Leading the pastoral care and academic progress of a year group.
*Supporting attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and wellbeing.
*Building strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies.
*Promoting community cohesion through enrichment, healthy living, and student leadership initiatives.
*Managing and developing a year team, ensuring high standards in registration, tutorials, and pastoral programmes.
*Overseeing interventions for students at risk of underachievement, absence, or behavioural concerns.
*Celebrating student success and fostering a positive year group identity.

What We're Looking For
*Proven experience in a pastoral or middle leadership role within a school setting.
*Strong ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
*Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, staff, and external agencies.
*Organisational skills to manage data, interventions, and year group activities effectively.
*A track record of improving attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and student outcomes.
*Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive practice.
*Flexibility to provide cover, supervision, and support across the school when required.
*A positive role model with resilience, empathy, and high expectations for young people.
