About the Role:

Aspire People are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Birmingham. The school caters to students with a range of additional needs, and we are looking for an experienced and empathetic teacher who can make a positive impact on their learning journey.

As a Maths Teacher at this SEMH school, you will deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of students who require additional support to succeed. You will be an integral part of a supportive and dynamic team, working to foster an environment of inclusion and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Maths lessons in line with the curriculum, ensuring they are accessible for students with varying levels of ability.

Support the emotional and social development of students with SEMH needs, using appropriate strategies to build confidence and resilience.

Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs, providing a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Work closely with other staff, including SENCOs and support staff, to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to student development.

Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to both students and parents/carers.

Promote a positive learning environment through proactive behaviour management techniques.

Key Requirements:

A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and 4 level, preferably in a SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision setting.

A strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to differentiate teaching strategies accordingly.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and parents.

A patient, resilient, and flexible approach to teaching and supporting students with complex needs.

A passion for helping vulnerable students achieve their potential and make progress.
