Overview:
Our client, a reputable and long-standing engineering firm located in the Birmingham area, is currently seeking a Service Coordinator to join their busy operations team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with prior coordination experience who is keen to further develop their skills within a thriving and supportive business.

In this role, you'll be central to the organisation and execution of field service activities. Your main focus will be ensuring field engineers are deployed efficiently, customer needs are promptly addressed, and key performance targets are met. You'll be the first point of contact for service-related enquiries, playing a key part in maintaining the company's high standards of service delivery.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and arrange scheduled maintenance visits.

  • Organise responses to reactive service calls and follow-up appointments where necessary.

  • Coordinate remedial work following PPM and call-out visits.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both clients and field staff to ensure optimal planning and service.

  • Handle incoming customer queries and service requests as the initial point of contact.

  • Ensure all visits are scheduled according to company guidelines, with a focus on engineer productivity and cost-efficiency.

  • Monitor customer KPIs and maintain strong client communication if expectations may not be met.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to manage key and national accounts.

  • Check engineer-submitted reports for accuracy and compliance.

  • Oversee subcontractor scheduling and performance, ensuring quality and timeliness.

  • Raise subcontractor purchase orders in line with company procedures.

  • Support the upkeep of the service management system and databases.

  • Track service completions and follow up on documentation for internal use, including accounts and reporting.
