You will do a 4 on 4 off shift pattern on nights working 18:00-06:00. You will be working in a faily busy yard conducting 50-60 movements per shift, but during peak periods and busy times this can be up to 100 per shift.
This is a full time, permanent job.
Daily duties will consist of but are not limited to:-
- Safely positioning trailers / vehicles in a timely manner as requested by the Control Room.
- Ensuring the yard area, including entry and exit points, vehicle wash, weighbridge, fuel islands and walkways, are managed in order for both vehicles and pedestrians to move freely and safely within the yard area.
- Promoting best practice.
- Challenge and report on any non-compliance.
- Drive company shunt vehicles in a safe and courteous fashion in accordance with the requirements of the site rules
- Report any vehicle accidents to the traffic office
- Report any mechanical defects
- Fuel vehicles and when required to undertake normal collection and delivery duties
- Take all responsible action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment and goods
- Carry out daily vehicle checks following procedure laid down
- To ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles between parking bays and loading bays
