Learning Support Assistant - Work Placement Support (SEN College)
Location: Erdington, Birmingham
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

A welcoming and supportive Post 16 college in Erdington is looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. This role focuses on providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN while they are on work placements, helping them to build confidence, develop life skills and thrive in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learners with a range of SEN during their external work placements
- Act as a liaison between the college, placement providers, and students
- Encourage independence and confidence in practical, real-life settings
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety protocols are followed at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEN
- Relevant qualifications in education, support work, or SEN (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching
- Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent)
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and external partners
- A proactive, patient, and supportive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
