ABC Teachers are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Support Specialist to work within a School in Shard End, Birmingham.

The Role

- A Behaviour Support Assistant helps to assist individuals managing and regulating challenging behaviours.
- Main responsibility is to evaluate the individuals needs and to create and implement plans to positively support students behavioural needs and to provide support and guidance to help manage behaviours in different situations.
- Assisting in intervention plans based on assessment findings and to help individuals learn new skills and to improve their abilities to cope.
- Working alongside teachers, parents and a range of support staff closely to ensure individual needs are met and prioritised.

-       A SEN School situated in the eastern area of Birmingham with ages ranging from 4-11.

-       The school provides an appropriate curriculum which provides a natural progression from the Early Years Foundation Learning programme, using a child centred approach.

-       Always working to the best of their ability and kept up to date with relevant current research and best practice.

-       Dedicated to following their visions, ethos and values whilst striving for achieving opportunities to improve outcomes and stability and success for all.



About you:

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you will:

Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.

Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students

Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
