Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor in the Kings Norton area, with an immediate start date. This role is based within a school supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and requires a confident, flexible, and proactive individual to cover staff absence and training days across all subjects.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with children or young people
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work
• Confidence to deliver pre-planned lessons and manage behaviour effectively

 

Role Responsibilities:
• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work
• Apply the school’s Behaviour Management Policy to maintain a positive learning environment
• Set and collect homework prepared by the teacher
• Observe and record pupil progress, contributing to pupil records where required
• Work across multiple departments and age ranges (11–16+)
• Participate in weekly school training and CPD opportunities
