Birmingham City Council are looking to recruit into an Adult Social Work Team in the city centre.

Your new role


As part of a new initiative, you'll work directly with some of the city's most vulnerable adults-those experiencing homelessness and complex needs. Your work will include conducting initial assessments and supporting clients through Conversations 1 to 3 as part of the Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) approach.You will also work closely with partner agencies in emergency provisions such as hostels and hospitals. Your role will also involve supporting transient adults with complex needs, including substance misuse and childhood trauma. This role is based primarily in the city centre, with flexibility to work remotely and access to key hubs like New Aston House and Sparkbrook.

What you'll need to succeed


In order to succeed in this role, you will need to have a qualification in Social Work and be registered with SWE. You must be comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments and engaging with clients in crisis. Be able to utilise knowledge of substance misuse, trauma-informed care, and homelessness pathways as well as relevant legislation.
