Your new companyBirmingham City Council are looking to recruit a qualified Social Worker for their 'No Recourse to Public Funds Team' (NRPF). Your new roleThis is an exciting opportunity for experienced social workers to join a stable and supportive NRPF team who are passionate and committed to providing the best decisions and care for citizens of Birmingham.The 'NRPF' team provides information and signposting services to vulnerable people who are unable to access statutory services across Birmingham. Providing assessments, information regarding welfare benefits, housing support and adult social care support. As a Social Worker, you will have substantial experience and working knowledge of adult social work and have knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Human Rights Act 1998 and Immigration and Asylum Act1999. You will be required to carry out face-to-face reviews with citizens who are asylum-seeking and be willing to travel to hospitals, community and residential. The team is exceptionally high functioning and well-supported by Senior Practitioners and Team Managers. Hybrid working. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will need to

  • Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • 1 year post-qualifying experience.
  • Previous experience working within Social Work adults services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
