We are working on behalf of an SEN primary school-based south of Birmingham and not far from the city centre. The school has a long and proven track-record of providing high quality education for pupils with ASC. The school has strong leadership, gained a good in their last Ofsted and give support and development to members of staff working in the school on a temporary basis. The school requires someone to carry out general classroom support in one of their KS2 classes during the latter part of the summer term of 2025. This involves the following:

  • Supporting pupils learning in class group settings, and smaller group teaching sessions as appropriate
  • Differentiating lesson delivery according to pupils' needs and ability.
  • Supporting pupils to achieve individual outcomes and targets in their learning
  • Safeguarding learners by being vigilant and by following the appropriate procedures.
  • Supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils and Safeguarding them by being vigilant and by following procedures
  • Supporting the individual needs of pupils with intimate and personal care
  • Communicating with pupils using their identified methods of communication.
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils and contributing to individual behaviour support strategies

The person concerned would need to have the following:

  • Experience of working in an SEN school or working with groups of SEN pupils in the mainstream
  • Experience and understanding of working with pupils with ASC
  • Experience of personal care
  • Recent experience that Hays Education would be able to obtain satisfactory references
