SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the SEN provision of a welcoming primary school in Aston, Birmingham. This is a rewarding full-time role supporting pupils with complex needs within a specialist setting.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work within the school's dedicated SEN provision, supporting pupils aged 7-12 years.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access learning in a way that meets their individual needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, non-verbal communication, and other complex needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and a team of experienced teaching assistants to deliver tailored learning experiences.
  • Play a key role in supporting the KS2 curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of pupils within the provision.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should ideally have:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD and complex needs.
  • Experience working in a primary school classroom setting, ideally within KS2.
  • Strong communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
