SEN Teaching Assistant (Part time)
Location: Acock's Green, Birmingham B27
Weekly Pay: (Apply online only)
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), 8:30 - 12:00 (part time)

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

We are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a bright and friendly Year 1 boy with autism. This is a mornings-only role, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support, helping him engage with learning activities.
  • Use clear communication and visual supports to aid understanding.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt resources and approaches.
  • Support his social and emotional development through positive interaction.
  • Encourage independence while ensuring his needs are met.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting primary-aged children with autism (ASD) is essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Understanding of autism strategies such as visual timetables, sensory breaks, and structured routines.
  • Confident working as part of a team in a busy school environment.
