Supply Heroes are looking for a highly motivated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a supportive and highly respected mainstream primary school in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The school have supportive staff that are dedicated to helping all students succeed and have a strong focus on student well-being and mental health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism as well as giving additional classroom support where needed. Therefore, somebody who has a passion of working in SEN, good adaptability and strong relationship building will thrive in this role. It starts ASAP and will be for the full academic year, full-time 5 days a week.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree in Education
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEN
  • A depth of knowledge of the primary school curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive and patient approach
