Behaviour Support Team Outreach Teacher

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN allowance Start Date: September 2025

City of Birmingham School is a vibrant and inclusive educational institution dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences for all pupils. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our team and help us continue to deliver a relevant and personalised offer to a range of schools and settings.

The COBS Behaviour Support Team provide SEMH and behaviour support to over 100 schools across Birmingham. We are looking to appoint a new, full-time member of staff to the Secondary team.

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Previous outreach experience, preferably in the Secondary phase
  • Experience in developing and delivering training to schools
  • Qualified Teacher Status and significant experience in supporting pupils with additional SEMH needs and challenging behaviour (applications from suitably experienced non-teachers will be considered)
  • Flexibility to best meet the needs of purchasing schools
  • Confidence, creativity and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management and administration skills

The role involves travelling around the city so a full driving license is essential. Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Understanding of assessment and profiling to support learning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong pupil management skills and the ability to manage a range of behaviours within the classroom.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and equal opportunities in employment and school delivery.
