About the Role:As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges, delivering a tailored curriculum that supports both academic progress and emotional development. You’ll create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of SEMH learners.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
- Work closely with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to ensure success.
- Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in mainstream or specialist settings).
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
