- An opportunity to make a tangible impact on healthcare practices by improving continence care standards and reducing waste across trusts.
- A day-rate contract that offers flexibility in scheduling. The initial focus is part-time/ad-hoc, with potential to increase your engagement as our education programme expands nationwide.
- Work at the forefront of a growing initiative, collaborating with a dynamic healthcare team. You’ll gain experience in clinical education, project expansion, and cross-organisation collaboration.
- Travel expenses and hotels covered when visiting client sites (hospitals) beyond your base area, as per company policy.
- Staff Training & Education: Plan and deliver engaging training sessions to nurses and healthcare staff on the proper use of products and techniques to minimise product waste. Ensure training is clear, practical, and adaptable to different clinical settings (ward training, one-on-one coaching, etc.).
- Best Practice Implementation: Promote evidence-based best practices. Work alongside ward staff to reinforce correct product usage, timely changes, and appropriate disposal – aiming to improve patient comfort and achieve cost savings through waste reduction.
- Clinical Support & Advice: Serve as a continence care resource person for trust staff. Answer clinical questions about product selection and usage, and provide guidance on managing common incontinence challenges in the hospital setting.
- Resource Development: Assist in creating handy educational materials for hospital wards, such as visual product usage posters and concise product information cards. These resources will help sustain knowledge between training sessions and support consistent best practices.
- Feedback & Improvement: Gather feedback from training participants and observe product usage outcomes. Report on successes, challenges, and areas for improvement to continuously refine the training programme. Work with our team to adjust strategies and materials based on real-world insights.
- Registered Nurse (NMC): Current NMC registration (RN) with post-registration clinical experience. (Experience in continence care, urology, care of the elderly, or community nursing is highly beneficial.)
- Clinical Expertise: Strong understanding of continence care and incontinence products. You should be familiar with different product types and their use cases, and comfortable advising on patient care techniques to manage continence effectively.
- Training Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Experience in teaching or mentoring clinical staff is ideal – you need to confidently deliver training and adapt your approach to learners at various skill levels. (If no formal training experience, you must demonstrate the confidence and clarity to educate others.)
- DBS Checked: Valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance, or willingness to undergo a DBS check, to work with patients and vulnerable groups.
- Organisation & Independence: Self-motivated and organised, capable of planning your own schedule and working independently on-site. This role involves coordinating sessions across multiple hospitals, so efficient time management and reliability are essential.
- Travel Flexibility: Based in or near the Midlands with the ability to travel to sites throughout the region (and across the UK as the role expands). Must have a valid driving licence and readiness to adapt to different hospital schedules (occasionally conducting early-morning or evening training to fit around staff shifts).
