We are looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist or Higher level Teaching assistant to work with an Outstanding Primary School in Handsworth, Birmingham. Working a shift pattern of any 3 days per week, you will be responsible for supporting primary aged learners with Speech and Language difficulties.

Reporting to both the SENCO and Headteacher, you will be responsible for a defined number of pupils with responsibilities including:

- Providing interventions to support a wide range of Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

- Providing Assessment for speech, language and communication needs of individual pupils

- Planning and delivering intervention support

- Evaluating and reporting on outcomes from interventions

- Working in collaboration with the wider staff team ; Teachers, Teaching Assistants etc. to set and review progress targets.

- Provide training and share knowledge with staff team to be able to deliver intervention packages

- Provide written reports for parents regarding speech, language and communication needs of their children

The ideal applicant will ideally hold a degree in Speech and Language and have hands on experience working in a primary school setting.

We have a start date of 01/09/25 but could start the role earlier, this academic year instead for the right candidate.

To join the school, you will need to have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks. Also, your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and you should have legal right to work in the UK.
