Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering team in Stourbridge. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term career potential for the right candidate. The role involves working with press tools and precision components in a hands-on workshop environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair, maintain, and modify press tools to ensure optimal performance
  • Strip down, rebuild, and regrind tooling as required
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling issues using problem-solving techniques
  • Support production teams with tool try-outs and troubleshooting
  • Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the toolroom
  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet production deadlines


Requirements:

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Toolmaker or Bench-Hand
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Desirable:

  • Experience with progression tooling or tungsten carbide
  • Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
  • Familiarity with CAD software
