Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering team in Stourbridge. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term career potential for the right candidate. The role involves working with press tools and precision components in a hands-on workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair, maintain, and modify press tools to ensure optimal performance
- Strip down, rebuild, and regrind tooling as required
- Diagnose and resolve tooling issues using problem-solving techniques
- Support production teams with tool try-outs and troubleshooting
- Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the toolroom
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Toolmaker or Bench-Hand
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Desirable:
- Experience with progression tooling or tungsten carbide
- Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
- Familiarity with CAD software
