My client based in and around the Kings Norton area of Birmingham is looking for a roof cleaning and maintenance technician to join their team. You must be reliable, trustworthy and comfortable working at heights.
As a commercial roof cleaning technician you will carry out reactive/proactive roof gutter cleaning and maintenance throughout the commercial customer estate. Adhere to contract service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure the highest standard of works at all times. Follow a schedule of planned works to ensure works are complete on time in line with customer expectation. Through quality workmanship, strengthen customer relationships and promote the company profile.
The role will involve travel in the works vehicle including the requirement for some overnight stays when necessary so you will need to be happy with this.
Your duties and responsibilities:
- Assess the requirements of the job and carry out cleaning and repairs works to commercial roof gutter systems.
- Prioritise cleaning, maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
- Identify defects and communicate issues to the Supervisor with remedial recommendation.
- Ensure all tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.
- Utilise company job management software to deliver accurate account of works completed each day.
- Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Work with company and customer representatives to ensure policy standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure company vehicle is kept clean, well maintained and serviced as required.
- Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the Supervisor or management team
- Work individually on maintenance tasks assigned as requested by supervisor.
- Carryout PPMs on commercial guttering and inspections on Mechanical fall protection equipment as per manufacturers specifications.
- Correctly manage Site waste disposal from own activities.
- Safely and effectively operate MEWP. (1B, 3A and 3B)
- Address minor fabric issues.
- Adhere to the out of hours on call rota (as required).
- Ensure the correct and timely completion of paperwork according to company policy and procedure.
- Ensure completion of Site Logbooks where applicable
- Coordinate any required job extensions with Management and the Helpdesk
- Demonstrate basic problem-solving techniques to identify root cause of issues.
- Attend training courses as and when necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
In order to be successful you will need to be:
- Comfortable travelling in the works vehicle including some overnight stays
- Customer focused with excellent communication skills and high personal values
- Organised and flexible
- Happy working at height, including harness training
- An effective communicator
- Knowledgeable on relevant legislation
- Clean driving licence
- IPAF preferred
- SSSTS or SMSTS. (Desirable)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and Safe Systems of Work.
