This full-time, permanent teaching role is based in Bishop's Stortford and offers a unique environment where therapeutic support and personalised education go hand in hand. The school caters for a small number of pupils who require a high level of consistency, structure, and emotional understanding.
The Role:
Teaching a small class of pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
Creating and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across a broad curriculum
Supporting pupils in developing emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Working closely with therapists, mentors and support staff as part of a wider pastoral team
Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience through personalised learning plans
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Experience teaching students with SEMH or complex behavioural needs
Calm, nurturing and consistent approach
Strong classroom management and behaviour de-escalation skills
