Room Leader

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our warm and supportive team in Bishops Stortford. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your early years career and lead a dynamic team in creating a nurturing, inspiring, and educational environment for young children.

As Room Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the room. Your main duties will include:

• Leading, supporting, and mentoring a team of practitioners in your designated room

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging activities that support the EYFS framework

• Ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment

• Monitoring children's development and maintaining accurate records

• Building strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and staff

• Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety policies are always followed

• Supporting with staff training, development, and performance reviews

• Liaising with the nursery management team to maintain high standards of care and education

We are looking for someone passionate about early years education and confident in leading a team. You must have:

• Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential)

• Proven experience working in a nursery setting (at least 2 years preferred)

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within early years (highly desirable)

• Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child protection procedures

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine love for working with children

An immediate start is ideal, but we are happy to be flexible for the right candidate.
