Do you love helping people grow and thrive? Are you organised, proactive, and excited by the idea of supporting staff, apprentices, and volunteers to reach their potential? If so, this could be just the role for you.
We are exclusively partnering with a unique organisation, where people are truly at the heart of everything, to recruit a People Development Assistant on a fixed-term contract for 7 months to cover maternity leave. In this role, you’ll make sure colleagues, volunteers, and apprentices have the skills, training, and support they need to succeed – all while helping the organisation deliver its exciting plans for the future.
What you’ll be doing
No two days will be the same, but you can expect to:
- Coordinate training and development – from booking courses to managing an online learning platform.
- Support managers to identify training needs, keep a training matrix up to date, and ensure compulsory training is completed on time.
- Organise key events such as staff induction sessions and annual development days.
- Provide support to apprentices and volunteers and build relationships with colleges and training providers to open up new opportunities.
- Track progress, maintain accurate records, and produce clear reports on training activity.
- Ensure learning opportunities are inclusive, fair, and accessible to all.
- Support the wider HR and People Development team with recruitment and other people-focused projects.
About you
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
- Highly organised and proactive – able to prioritise competing tasks.
- Analytical and confident with systems – particularly Excel and databases.
- People-focused – building strong, positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Adaptable and enthusiastic – happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
- A clear communicator – with strong written skills for reports and updates.
Above all, you’ll be someone who takes real pride in supporting others to learn, develop, and succeed.
This is a chance to work in a truly unique environment where people come first. You’ll be part of a supportive team and play a vital role in helping staff, apprentices, and volunteers develop the skills and confidence they need to shine.
If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for, we’d love to hear from you.
