Job Description

The Chief Estimator provides management, support and assistance to the estimating team. This individual is responsible for the overall performance, leadership, mentorship and effectiveness of the estimating team.

  • Effectively develop bids that comply with client needs, while providing an acceptable rate of return
  • Review project estimates to establish accuracy and completeness prior to the client presentation
  • Provide technical support to all estimators and prepare estimates as required
  • Lead the selection of subcontractors and major material vendors for projects
  • Participate in pre-bid, bid strategy and presentation meetings to certify consistency
  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary project schedules and bid proposals
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in engineering technology.
  • Trade apprentiship or certificate an asset.
  • Ten or more years of experience in construction estimating; commercial or industrial construction is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of experience with larger complex project estimates.
