Location: Leicestershire (LE8)
Pay: 90-95 per day (PAYE)

About the Role

Long Term Futures is looking for a proactive Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist SEMH school in Leicestershire. The school caters for children aged 4-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in supporting students both in the classroom and through more practical, active learning opportunities. It's a great fit for people who enjoy working dynamically, using energy, patience and consistency to help young people thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour through effective strategies and de-escalation
  • Support students to regulate emotions and build confidence
  • Promote resilience, independence and life skills through varied learning approaches
  • Contribute to outdoor learning, physical activities and enrichment sessions
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe, inclusive setting

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs
  • Resilient, calm, and confident when supporting challenging behaviour
  • Able to engage students through both academic and practical learning
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • A background in youth work, coaching or support work would be beneficial
