Your new companyYour new company is a global manufacturing / engineering business based in Blackburn. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.Your new role
  • Involved in the day-to-day Finance operations in the UK office maintaining and implementing all necessary controls and processes to ensure compliance with legislation including being the first point of contact with the external Auditors.
  • Continual Development of processes and compliance to ensure alignment with SOX principles. 
  • Taxation – ensuring all Taxes are accurately calculated, recorded, and paid together with upholding necessary filings including P11d, Payroll Taxes, VAT, Corporate Taxes.
  • Reconciliation of: Sales (ERP - BI – Consolidation pack), stock & goods received not invoiced and all other balance sheet codes. Analyse data and provide explanations for any significant variances.
  • Ensuring all historical reports needed are transferred to into new reporting outputs and maintained going forward
  • Sales and Gross Margin analytical review and reporting, with support for Regional Director(s) as necessary.
  • Liaising with external and internal parties for all matters concerning: R&D, Legal, HR, Insurance renewals, Car leasing, operating costs and expenses management, GDPR. Including general monthly administrative support, control and analysis for expenditure of legal, pensions and other professional fees. Along with monitoring against budget.
  • Responsible for timely completion of monthly management accounts, 
  • Analysing final report and postings. Supplementals input and financial commentary. Manage and maintain the inter company balances for the entities responsible for, and prepare month-end reporting statements and reconciliations, analysing the data and acting as first point of contact for queries on inter company balances.
  • Responsible for the monthly management accounts of our overseas entity.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet codes.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the UK GAAP Statutory Financial Statements. Along with Roll forwards of the non-trading dormant companies. Knowledge of the conversion of management accounts from US GAAP to FRS 102 would be advantageous.
  • Responsible for ensuring quarterly reporting is completed including attestations and internal audit
  • Responsible for reviewing overseas entities statutory financial statements are complete in a timely manner.
  • Monthly cost reporting and liaising with managers on their results to budget.
  • Deputising in the absence of financial controller.
  • Assistance in production & collation of the annual operating expense budget.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Professional accounting qualification, CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Previous experience in a similar role including international exposure with accounting and reporting in various foreign currencies. Handling currency transnationals and foreign book keeping 
  • International exposure would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience of Consolidation reporting packages
