Zünd Machine Operator – Technical Cutting

Are you an experienced CNC Laser Operator, or recently completed your CNC NVQ apprenticeship?
We are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing company that specialises in working with advanced and technical materials.
They are looking to appoint a Zünd Machine Operator (or experienced CNC Laser Operator) to join their production team in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in precision cutting and technical manufacturing to join a supportive, stable team offering progression and skill development.
- £24,199.50 per year + Bonus Scheme
- Monday to Thursday 09:00 – 17:00, Friday 09:00 – 16:00 (36.5 hours per week)
- No weekend working, supportive team environment, great benefits
- Expected start from 13/01/2026

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Zünd digital cutting equipment to accurately process a variety of high-performance materials used in specialist manufacturing.
- Interpret CAD drawings and production instructions to ensure accurate output.
- Optimize material layout for minimal waste and maximum efficiency.
- Conduct basic maintenance and calibration of the cutting equipment.
- Monitor material quality and maintain accurate production records.
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet production deadlines.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Zünd or similar digital cutting machinery.
- Confident reading and interpreting CAD drawings or nesting files.
- Good understanding of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using cutting software such as Zünd Cut Centre or similar.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive work ethic.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with high-specification or engineered materials.
- Knowledge of nesting and material optimisation.
- A forklift or material-handling qualification is an advantage.
