Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Caretakerto work with an education provider in the Blackburnarea. The incoming candidate will work 37 hours per week (Mon - Fri) on a split shift between 7:15am - 6:5pm, covering the opening and locking up of the facilities each day.

The incoming Caretakerwill provide essential support in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Working closely with the Site Manager and wider facilities team, this role ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of school buildings and grounds
  • Carry out minor repairs, routine checks, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting any issues promptly
  • Support the setup and breakdown of school events, activities, and classroom arrangements
  • Assist with security measures, including monitoring access and reporting any concerns
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other facilities resources
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and students
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Manager, caretakers, and other staff to ensure a safe and functional school environment

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or caretaking roles
  • Competent in carrying out basic DIY or maintenance
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
  • Awareness of health and safety practices, ideally in an education setting
