- Conduct testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established procedures
- Accurately record and report test results
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
- Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness within the laboratory
- Assist in investigations of quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement
- Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure consistent product quality
- Handle products safely in accordance with COSHH regulations
- Participate in training and development programmes as required
- Previous laboratory experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting or a graduate looking to get into this type of role
- Good understanding of laboratory procedures and testing methods
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, data entry systems)
- Flexibility and reliability in working early shifts
- Relevant qualification in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g., BTEC, HNC, or similar)
- Knowledge of ISO standards or quality management systems
- Experience working with raw material and laboratory safety practices
