Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a customer-facing Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in a manufacturing environment?

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join a handling and automated solutions provider based in Darwen, Lancashire. Combining the strengths of two market leaders, they deliver a product portfolio with a global turnover of $70 million. Alongside their sister company, the group has a combined turnover of $140M million and growing.

The main purpose of this role is to design and deliver solutions across a range of industries including food, pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, can manage their time effectively and has a positive approach.

Educated to Degree level (or equivalent), we are open-minded as to industry experience but you will have at least 3 years of commercial Design experience as well as Autodesk Inventor.

The package:

-Salary is 35k - 40k DOE + OT @1.5x base

-Quarterly bonus based on department KPIs

-Working hours are 8-16.45 Monday to Thursday and a half-day on Fridays (8am-12.30pm)

-Working for home options available once the successful candidate is up to speed and depending on project.

-24 days holiday plus statutory days

-Training and development is offered and can be addressed and tailored at request. Typical training offered would be based around ATEX regulations, CAD Design certifications, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing.
