Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with several supportive mainstream primary schools across the Blackburn area. We are looking for caring, motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require individualised support to thrive in school.

These roles involve working closely with children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, and global developmental delays. You'll follow tailored EHCPs, support pupils with their day-to-day learning, and work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and families to ensure the best outcomes.

While these positions are initially temporary, schools frequently offer long-term or permanent contracts to strong, consistent candidates.

What do we look for in a SEN Teaching Assistant?

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN

  • A reliable, consistent presence who can build trust with pupils

  • The ability to work well with staff, parents, and children

  • Previous SEN experience is highly beneficial - either personal or professional

In return, Tradewind can offer you:

  • A competitive daily rate of £90-£100 depending on experience

  • Local placements in schools across Blackburn

  • Access to long-term opportunities within our partner schools

  • A dedicated consultant who listens to your needs and matches you with suitable roles

  • Flexible working to fit around your lifestyle - full-time or part-time options available

  • PAYE pay - no hidden umbrella fees

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real impact on the lives of children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you!
